Day Treatment Program in Jacksonville: Why Choose Us?

Our outpatient mental health programs offer:

  • No-cost assessments: We are here 24/7/365 to offer free mental health assessments and fast access to our outpatient or inpatient mental health treatment programs. Your well-being is our top priority — and it shouldn’t wait.
  • Specialized military program: Our Freedom Track Military Program offers specialized care for active-duty service members and veterans. Trained therapists guide you through group therapy and trauma resolution in a judgment-free environment.
  • Evidence-based treatments: We offer electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) and transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) for people with treatment-resistant depression and other severe mental health challenges. River Point is the first freestanding behavioral health center in Jacksonville and northeast Florida offering ECT, so you don’t have to go to a hospital for this highly effective treatment.

Our Partial Hospitalization and Intensive Outpatient Programs

River Point Behavioral Health offers two programs for people who need mental health treatment and support. Our partial hospitalization (PHP) and intensive outpatient (IOP) programs allow you to continue living at home while receiving treatment, so you can stay connected with loved ones as you heal.

We may refer you directly to one of these outpatient programs after your initial assessment. Or you may step down to outpatient care after inpatient hospitalization. Your caregivers, including a psychiatrist, nurse and licensed therapist, meet weekly to discuss your progress and ensure you’re in the right program for your needs.

We offer PHP and IOP for:

  • Anxiety disorders
  • Depression
  • Dual diagnosis (co-occurring disorders)
  • Personality and mood disorders
  • Post-traumatic stress disorder
  • Psychosis
  • Suicidal ideation

PHP for mental health

Partial hospitalization is a full-day treatment program that takes place Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. PHP may be right for people who don’t need the 24-hour supervision of inpatient hospitalization but still require intensive therapy and a structured schedule. Participating in PHP may prevent the need for crisis stabilization or inpatient treatment.

IOP for mental health

Intensive outpatient treatment is a half-day program that takes place Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to noon. IOP may be a step-down program for people who have completed PHP. IOP is less intensive than PHP and ideal for those ready to transition back into their jobs and communities. We offer flexible scheduling as well as telehealth options for people in IOP.

  • Electroconvulsive therapy
  • Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR)
